VCS

Visual Contrast Sensitivity (VCS) testing is the first thing performed upon arrival. After this initial VCS testing, affected family members are placed in a room for 3 hours with our Catalytic Air System.
If we see a reduction in the fails on the VCS, we know that by removing triggers we can help reduce inflammation, those results can be interpreted by your medical physician.

Health History

A thorough timeline of any health issues is beneficial to reaching successful outcomes. When any health issues started? Whether they occurred in previous homes or workplaces.
The health issues may include respiratory concerns like asthma, COPD, headaches, depression, anxiety, short-term memory, brain fog, hormonal changes and many more.

Determining building moisture issues.

-Are there areas of hidden mould/bacteria in wall cavities, behind kitchen cupboards, under floorboards, behind fixed bedheads or in built-ins?
-Inspecting under carpets around bathrooms, and under windows, to allow the floor to be tested, as well as underlays- all carpets are relayed during the inspection.
-Inspection of contents throughout looking for visible ATP under LED.
-Roof cavity inspection where required.
-Subfloor cavity to determine if there is adequate perimeter drainage- if not scope what’s required if that is an issue.

Tests and Sampling

When it comes to sampling knowing the mould and bacterial species is extremely important, as that allows us to determine what if anything is a human pathogen, both in bacteria and mould.

Heavy metal testing in the home, along with pesticides, is extremely important if you have been flooded with groundwater carrying those contaminates.

Cyanobacteria testing looks for the organisms that can produce Microcystins which are toxins produced by a variety of bloom-forming cyanobacteria. (Blue-green algae). Current research is looking at blue-green algae as a possible trigger in Motor Neuron Disease, if that link is verified what other diseases like Parkinson’s may also be linked.

Total VOCs are monitored throughout looking at total levels, but we also look at individual Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide levels, along with humidity levels- all of this helps identify areas that may be a problem.

Should it be required we can collect a VOC sample and have it analyzed to determine which chemicals could be triggers- we can also undertake breath analysis when required to match that to what is in the contaminated space and what has built up in fat cells.

Gene Expression Testing

The technology we have now is astounding and we can also offer Gene Expression testing which shows the gene expression that has changed in water-damaged buildings.
– this testing also indicates whether PTSD is a problem.
